Mark Wink Pushes Boundaries of Rock with his Album "Rock Bytes"

Vienna-based musician and multimedia artist Mark Wink makes an impact with his new album "Rock Bytes". He is an experienced composer, songwriter, and digital visionary, and utilizes that creativity in this 12-song album that merges classic-rock forms and modern soundscapes. With many nods to retired giants of rock music, such as Queen, Dire Straits, etc. "Rock Bytes" demonstrates the timeless quality of rock while continuing to expand its definition into the present day.

The album starts with "Old Soul," a modern rock-pop romp that flies right past conventional song structures. What starts with a soulful intro becomes an explosion of speed and energy. As with some of the other songs on the album, Wink demonstrates an unconventional approach, mixing rock with several other genres while exploring deeper themes and narratives. The exploration of narratives continues with "Sugar Sugar," a playful, upbeat song that stems from Wink's humorous, impromptu interaction with a waiter in the Maldives that turned into a catchy, slightly-behaved jam. Episodes of inspiration like this fill "Rock Bytes," and Wink's creativity shines through in every aspect of mashing up his experiences in everyday life into the musical continuum.

The album was recorded at Wink's two private studios located in Vienna and Styria, reflecting Wink's approach to music production that is both involved and personal. Wink introduces an exciting spin on rock's tried and true formulas by cutting, incorporating new aspects, and reconnecting songs. Songs like "The Stars" and "Man or Machine" possess operatic/cinematic details in his compositions with elements of drama and flair.
