Michellar Maps Out an Emotional Journey in Her Americana Folk Song, "Intersection".

San Francisco-based singer-songwriter Michellar sets foot in uncharted territory through the melancholy song “Intersection”, a soulful journey into the Americana folk genre. Produced by Tobias Wilson (who also provided backing vocals), “Intersection” blends a warm and inviting cast of acoustic instrumentation and Michellar’s vivid storytelling to create a compelling emotional experience.

While inspired by bands such as The Lumineers and Mumford & Sons, “Intersection” takes on an intriguing simplicity – the organic textures of banjo, acoustic guitar, and restrained harmonies create a gentle and soft Americana feel, composed around a story of longing, destiny, and first love. Michellar’s earnest lyrics emerge from a dreamlike moment of connection, whilst an undertow of tension and risk underscores the content.

The track was recorded in Staffordshire, UK, at Tobias Wilson Recording Studios, which was able to help Michellar translate her vision into reality. Michellar provided Wilson with a demo and narrative direction, and he interpreted this while developing an arrangement that is evocative and mirrors Michellar’s creative conception with diligence and soul.

"Intersection" is Michellar's first Americana folk song and an important step forward for her as an artist. This song comes from a place of vulnerability but is delivered with a strength that's a beautiful intersection of emotion, storytelling, and genre-blending ingenuity.
