Rosetta West Drops Haunting Visual for “Dora Lee (Gravity)”
Chicago’s underground blues-rock veterans, Rosetta West, return with a mesmerizing new visual: the video for “Dora Lee (Gravity),” taken from their forthcoming album, Gravity Sessions. Filmed at the iconic Gravity Studios, this performance is anything but typical, blending hard blues riffs, raw emotion, and mysticism into a surreal cinematic experience.
Fronted by founder Joseph Demagore, with Herf Guderian on bass and longtime drummer Mike Weaver, Rosetta West channels their signature fusion of blues rock, psychedelia, and spiritual undertones in this latest release.
The video itself is a visual fever dream: a military tank commander is haunted, even by a pantheon of powerful goddesses like Ishtar, Hecate, and Kali, who embody the cosmic feminine. These archetypes don't just appear; they disrupt, seduce, and challenge the commander’s sense of power and identity.
Musically, “Dora Lee (Gravity)” hits with searing guitar work, thunderous rhythm, and Demagore’s intense vocal delivery. It’s blues rock with teeth, aggressive, introspective, and unafraid to ask big questions. Rosetta West continues to defy expectations, proving their art is as relevant and thought-provoking as ever.
