GIANFRANCO GFN Takes You on an Infectious Groove with “Jumping Around (Instrumental)”

GIANFRANCO GFN is back with “Jumping Around (Instrumental)” straight out of the rhythmic heart of Bienne, Switzerland. “Jumping Around (Instrumental)” is a scintillating skimmer of GIANFRANCO GFN’s upcoming album, braided in the core of soul, splashed with acid-jazz, and crowned with friendly-GIAZZ-like eccentricity. The spirited instrumentation is an intimate explosion of rhythm to dance, a pleasure trip into an ecstatic utopia allowing freedom of movement, thought, and dreaming.

A firkin of lively energy bursts from “Jumping Around.” The smooth guitar lines drip like a rich satin sheet of melody. David Caraccio’s warm bass-and-rich-keys instrumentals employed by Nicolas Pittet’s pounding percussion fill the space in GIANFRANCO GFN's arrangements for each musician to attain dynamic dreaminess. The layering from Claude-Alain Biedermann’s tickle of tasteful keys, Lucien Matthey's swinging percussion, and Fred Stalder's sunny trumpet punctuates the tapestry of musically vibrant hues.

There is nothing even close to what I would call "instrumental" in "Jumping Around." The track speaks instrumentally without being over-produced, it's playful without being gimmicky, cinematic without being film-stupid; it creates a possibility of insequencing atmospheric movement emerging a free-for-all of sound or feeling, encouraging unknowing freedom of movement and unknowing escaping of thought. It's jazz that grooves, soul that dances, or it's instrumental music that is undeniably alive.

“Jumping Around” is a beautiful invitation to feel, to sway and let go which is all evidence that GIANFRANCO GFN and his amazing group of players are making something very special as they go into the album release.
