Golem Dance Cult's "Call of the Wendigo": A Hypnotic Descent into Occult Glamour and Gothic Psychedelia

From the blackness of Belgrave, Australia, Golem Dance Cult delivers a hypnotic visual for their latest single "Call of the Wendigo", a cinematic plunge into ritualistic mysticism and sonic distortion. The stunning video precedes their new album Shamanic Faultlines. It imagines a shadowy hybrid of post-punk decadence and chaotic spirituality evoking the theatrical dynamics of Bauhaus and Jane's Addiction, while presenting us a distorted soul.

Through the lens of the video, and its ghostly noir, we are transported into an entropic trance dancing apparitions, crackling flames and ancestral memories to signify primal hunger where the Wendigo exists.

The Wendigo myth refers to a creature that represents insatiable hunger and/or greed and transformation, and becomes a metaphor for internal struggle and human loss. It's gothic, it's artistic, and it's a trippier thing than you can imagine.

Musically, the song offers searing guitar riffs, tribal grooves, and potent vocals. Each element from Peter Miller's theremin wails to Boris Boubil's Moog textures is propulsive towards the ritualistic momentum of the track. Golem Dance Cult has created an experience more than a song - "Call of the Wendigo" is an audio-visual incantation.
