Rosetta West Strikes Lightening Again with "Gravity Sessions" Album

Chicago’s long-serving blues rock band, Rosetta West returns with "Gravity Sessions". This seven track album was recorded live at Chicago's famous Gravity Studios and conveys a gritty, soulful vibe. Each song is filled with passionate performances by Joseph Demagore (vocals, guitar), Herf Guderian (bass), and longtime drummer Mike Weaver. "Gravity Sessions" is raw, earthy, transcendent and as human as music can be.

Much, if not all of the recording was done live and done with the help of renowned audio engineer Doug McBride. Listening to "Gravity Sessions" it is easy to feel the spontaneity, passion for emotional expression, and an unapologetic rawness that comes from performing live. You get the feeling that you're hearing Rosetta West live at an intimate venue or possibly a smoky dive bar The standout tracks include "Suzie", and "Dora Lee" (which Rosetta West previously released). Demagore's lyrics in these songs delve into deeply personal explorations of things like loss, longing, and spiritual awakening, and the sounds of these songs swirl around him to create mesmerizing waves of sound.

Gravity Sessions sets itself apart because it will not be "polished." Rosetta West purposely played into it’s imperfections to capture the truth while bridging blues-rock grit with psychedelic production, worldly folk elements and poetic mysticism. The album is not simply music. It is a séance in sound that taps into lost corners of the soul.

With Gravity Sessions Rosetta West has shown that spirit and authenticity can never go out of style.
