Boston-based composer and singer-songwriter Aleksandra Picariello presents a heartbreakingly honest exploration of heartbreak and healing in her emotionally-charged single "Don't Fly Away." Picariello’s theatrical indie pop sound fuses orchestral colors with rock-infused grooves. Affectionately called Allie, she pulls from very personal struggles to paint sonic landscapes that are raw, immersive, and transformative.

"Don't Fly Away" is not a breakup song; it is a deeply-rooted and reflective account of the internal push and pull we have with leaving toxic relationships. Aleksandra begs for connection as she realizes she must let it go over lush sweeping string arrangements, emotive piano, and steady, driving basslines.

Her vocal delivery is soft, yet powerful, and rides waves of grief, hope, and self-realization alike. It is simultaneously cinematic, allowing images to paint a picture-like landscape that is vast (Hans Zimmer's score evokes this vibe), yet also brings emotional weight with Florence Welch and similar emotions.

After graduating from Berklee College of Music's film scoring program, Picariello writes music that captures the storytelling sensibility of a screen composer, immersing the listener in her world. With "Don't Fly Away," she confronts her past and expresses compassion to people struggling with mental health and addiction.
