Canary Complex's "A Whisper of Spring": A Visual Kei Dreamscape In Full Bloom

Raleigh, NC-based artist Canary Complex provides a deep, cinematic experience with its third album "A Whisper of Spring", an homage to 90s visual kei and French chanson with the flair of progressive rock's romanticism. This eight-track journey is a surreal, melancholic dream project referred to by the artist as "The Imaginary Paris."

The tracks on this album are well thought and composed, from the sensuous whimsy of the lead single "Déshabillez-Moi", to the snow-covered sophistication of "Papillon Snow Angel", you are swept up in its promises of longing, and rebirth with emotional grandeur. Working alongside producer Michael Rumple a spacious sound comes filled with bossa nova beats, dramatic orchestration, and Canary Complex's trademark ethereal guitar work and ghostly delivered vocals.

While, tracks like "Seance" and "Hyacinthine" conjure immense, cinematic feeling that capture that uniquely Japanese aesthetic of romantic decay, "Forevergreen" is a long-time fan favorite, that will please visual kei purist globally.

Canary Complex plays and records each instrument himself and, in doing so, helps solidify his status as truly unique and deeply tied to the traditions of the genre. A Whisper of Spring is not just an album, but a universe.
