Michellar’s “I Can’t Meet You!”: A Groovy Escape into Self-Liberation

Coming out of the lively indie scene of San Francisco, Michellar presents a splendid new single, “I Can’t Meet You!”, a rhythm-based anthem that takes a break up and formulates a self-empowerment anthem. This song shimmers with funky grooves, a pop soul overload and a retro-modern cadence combining essences of Prince, Stevie Wonder, and Sabrina Carpenter.

Michellar wrote the song's lyrics and melody with Marius A, a Romanian producer, who was a true find for Michellar and has helped to build a song that is both very personal, and undeniably danceable. The groove reigns in this funky bop, it is vibrant, punchy and inviting with a nostalgia that feels warm; while, the lyrical theme pulls at the emotions of walking out of a love story that does not serve you. Michellar's voice tracks throughout the song seemed positioned above the rhythm and feels sincere with flawless individuality.

"I Can't Meet You!" was recorded at the Women's Audio Mission studio in San Francisco and mixed in Romania: the possibility of global collaboration is one of the best parts of today's music scene. This single is part of an upcoming 8-song album and suggests many more bold, feel-good soundscapes to come. Michellar has a lot of charm and groove, and her unique style is once to watch.
