Jonny Corralitos “Over Before It’s Begun”: A Whimsical Journey Through Transient Romance and Euphoric Riffs

Coming straight out of Berkeley, California, Jonny Corralitos (also the solo alias of seasoned musician Jon Abrams) has brought me a refreshing all-indie rock reminiscent of the fun in the ‘90s sunshine. “Over Before It’s Begun” launches us directly back to the golden age of ‘90s college rock music, with the swagger of Pavement and the singalong delightfulness of The Lemonheads, all with extra energy and vibrancy.

“Over Before It’s Begun” is part of the dazzling World's Sound EP, and is a breakneck song about those relationships that burst with flames, but quickly dwindle into fairy dust. Jonny’s authentic feelings are buoyantly revealed, especially in the anthemic chorus:” It’s over before it’s begun, but at least you’ve had your fun," which serves as a reminder that sometimes, the less time the better! Jonny’s rhythm guitar leached sharper through, and the production of a full blast of rocking.

Raised off-grid in a teepee in Corralitos, Jonny's origins are as wild as his riffs. That unconventional upbringing affects every note he plays, mixing the cosmic fire of his homegrown sound with surf-town rebellion.

"Over Before It's Begun" is not just a song; it's the culmination of youthful chaos and the musical high that comes with embracing the moment.
