Roxana’s “Drifting Roots” EP: A Gentle Exploration of Memory, Emotion, and Indie Identity
Roxana is back after her last project with her second self-produced release called, Drifting Roots, a four-track EP full of emotional richness around growth, yearning, and personal history, that comes out of Graz, Austria. The sound is dreamy, featuring honest lyrics and varying sounds in a genre-fluid approach, and very much represents a transition for Roxana.
The first track, “Stars Don’t Fall,” begins the EP with the same soft, introspective nature one experiences from stargazing, and the confession opens the experience, “It’s You” captures all of the teenage innocence, it was recorded as sweet love song when Roxana was seventeen, and radiates unfiltered sweetness.
“Alive Forever” captures the affection of a loved one who passed away, while extending warmth and gentleness; the resilience is gentle. “Green Roses,” the last song added written at a young age, presented an experience rooted in vulnerability and jealousy, as she features Benjo and attempts to connect with her fan community, "Roxstars".
Roxana's DIY narrative, amplified by 5,000 followers on TikTok, gives the EP a special authenticity. This project is not looking to be commercially viable rather it's celebrating real storytelling, artistry, and creative exploration. Drifting Roots with cover art by red_astra_ink, stands as an intense reminder that the strongest music comes from the heart, rather than from the algorithm.
