Ava Valianti Surges with Feeling on New Single “Buttercups”

With “Buttercups”, a new single from the 15-year-old indie-pop savant Ava Valianti, the Newbury, US native continues her development in a creative lane all her own. Ava has crafted a style that marries raw vulnerability with pop-rock polish that is fresh yet nostalgic. Buttercups wrestles with nostalgia, heartache, and the bittersweet nature of memory; it is an emotional juggernaut.

The song opens with soft piano and gentle guitar before shifting into a chorus that is sweeping, layered, and drives a thematic feeling of high and low that often comes with young love.

Ava's vocals are expressive, clear, and deeply emotional beyond her years. In these lyrics, she encourages the listener to envision their memories through both sweet and painful imagery. “Aren’t you my buttercup, my buttercup baby,” is the call to an emotional relationship that stretches through time, comforting as much as it aches.

"Buttercups is about love, loss, and the little things that follow you," Ava explains.  "The smell of cinnamon, the creaky doors, the buttercups, are all reminders of why you loved in the first place." With a growing performance resume, a handful of national awards, and a debut EP on the way, Ava Valianti is showing with Buttercups that she is not only a rising star herself but a storyteller for a generation of people in bloom.
