“Sugar Water - Polybit Remix”: OKAYDEN's Global Collaboration Transforms Queer Love into a Drum and Bass Anthem

The tale of "Sugar Water - Polybit Remix" spans the distance from Melbourne to Sydney and is defined by a sense of digital serendipity, creative kinship, and global connection. "Sugar Water," which was created by OKAYDEN and Sydney-based vocalist VRDA, is honestly personal in its exploration of queer love and the emotions that manifest along with its first bloom, including uncertainty, sweetness, and discovery. In a roundabout way, Polybit was first introduced through a mutual musician, Superchromatic. He originally was involved in signing on to remix a track from OKAYDEN's third EP. 

When he heard "Sugar Water," he immediately connected with it and offered to remix it instead. The remix is an exhilarating reimagining of the original that illustrates its original intention of vulnerability while shifting into an altogether different gear.

This remix was made and crafted in multiple cities: Melbourne, Sydney, and wherever Polybit happened to land. This remix can be described as proof of evolving collaboration.
