The "Life at the Kitchen Table" EP by Gigi Wilde: When the commonplace transforms into the extraordinary

With the release of "Life at the Kitchen Table" EP, artist Gigi Wilde looms large with seven tracks brimming with unafraid vulnerability, utilizing something so simple as the kitchen table, turning what could be mundane activities into an extraordinary cinematic and poetic experience. Gigi's new project is a love letter intended to honor the beautiful, messy life lived around the most unremarkable space in our homes: the kitchen table.

Each composition seems to capture a moment in time and can span from grief to joy, reflection on queer identity to quiet contemplation. Gigi somehow evokes emotions with vivid imagery in the storytelling of each song, paired with haunting melodies that make each moment feel specific to them, yet transcendent. The tracks "Speak so much, say so little" and "Who have I been" linger mostly spoken like a secret on your tongue, "eye to eye" and "Do you ever" identify the tension that has carried you into those vulnerable moments.

In Gigi’s words, the EP is about the “small moments that build us”. Whether it be a family feud, a hug, or two people enjoying a meal, Life at the Kitchen Table will remind us that these inconspicuous intersections are where the magic of life lives.   Wilde's September 11 headline show at St Matthias Church in Stoke Newington is ensuring this world is brought to life one beautifully raw note at a time.
