FENRA's single "COFFEE" Serves Up a Dreamy Blend of Feeling and Innovation

Portland-based producer FENRA creates a sound of both cinematic and intimate proportions with his debut single "COFFEE". "COFFEE" is a lush, slow-burning journey that somehow inhabits the liminal space between memory and motion. Out on 6x Records, it is the first single from his forthcoming EP Delusional (following on November 28, 2025), and firmly establishes one of the most compelling experimental electronic music artists on the scene.

"COFFEE" revolves around a hammered dulcimer, warped, pitched-down vocals, and ambient shimmering textures, transporting listeners into a meditative listening space that hums with low-key intensity. In true format, it layers organic timbres and woozy electronics in a manner reminiscent of artists like Caribou, Four Tet, and Bonobo, yet it fully maintains an aware vibe that makes it all FENRA. His experience in performance and choir singing with his grandmother also adds extra weight and expression to every dusty note they hear.

Mastered by Aneek Thapar (of Rival Consoles and Max Cooper fame), the track finds that rare balance of being complex, yet calm; experimental, yet heartfelt. “COFFEE” feels akin to awakening from a dream-like memory: pleasantly warm, slightly disoriented, yet strangely comforting.

If this first release hints at anything, Delusional appears to invite richly textured explorations of human emotion through sounds, putting forward a thoughtful introduction from an artist making strides to re-imagine boundaries.
